Summer at Santorini. Original oil on canvas. 15 inches x 19 inches including frame:
"I love Greece, and the hospitality of the people is always phenomenal. Clean and white, bright and cheerful, the elements of this work that inspired me were the hidden red doors.
Promising a quiet corner outside of home to sit and bask in the sun, the sand color tile roof hidden beneath a current of blossom. The walls had been re-plastered numerous times showing their age. The flowers filled the air with a special sweetness, and provided a private spot to sit and catch up with friends and neighbors over a glass of Retsina wine." Includes Shipping.
Racing Respite. Oil on Canvas.16 inches wide x 20 inches high. Unframed:
This is the first in the collection of works from artist Nikki Alvin-Smith inspired by the bay thoroughbred mare, Versailles WVH. Based on the original oil on canvas work, Racing Respite is inspired by the horse racing phenomenon Tomorrows Cat (Storm Cat) bloodlines. Includes Shipping.
Hanoverian Colt, Spring Fever. Oil on canvas. 8 inches x 11.5 inches.
This work was inspired by a Hanoverian colt springing into action showing his powerful and expressive gaits and uphill movement.
The large mountain pasture with newly arrived Spring flowers and clean air were a beautiful place to visit and the perfect place for this colt to grow up and build his bone strength. If you look closely at the left hip you'll see the Hanoverian brand of two horse heads in a H shape, indicative of the German Hanoverian Verband breeding.
